New Years Eve 2013

Happy New Years Beauties!

I hope you all had a safe and wonderful time whether you spent it with friends, family, at the club, or at home on the couch! I was able to ring in the New Year at my parents house with my hubby and son. This is our 4th New Years together and Julian's second. I cannot believe how quickly time is flying by.
For 2014 I made a few resolutions, my number one being to be FEARLESS. I want to be able to do what I love and not worry about what someone else may think or how someone else may do it. 2014 is all about me and my way and not being ashamed to do it!

No matter your goals this year, write them down and think about them everyday. Make decisions that will help you reach your goal and take it one day at a time. It is easy to get overwhelmed with the anticipation of time and reaching your ultimate goal, but you just have to remember to take baby steps.

My NYE outfit was made by me ^.^ I should say more recycled than made? I found this gorgeous royal purple velour dress at a thrift store last year for $4. Since losing weight it obviously did not fit any more but I could not let that beautiful fabric go to waste. I turned it into a midi set, something I have been wanting to buy but just haven't had the time, patience or money to do!

I traced the top with a crop top and the skirt with a pencil skirt. I then just sewed everything to my measurements. It took me about 4 days to do since I really wanted it to look decent and not fall apart before the end of the night. I am thinking of doing a DIY Thrift series for the blog. What do you think?
