Ponytail Personality

Ponytails are the second best way to keep your hair up and out of your face. First would be buns, duh. There are so many ways to dress up ponytails it is insane. The biggest challenge is to not have your hair looking like a toddlers. I mean it may work for some, but definitely not everyone can pull off a toddler-looking ponytail [just my opinion].

I have compiled a list of some of the most attractive and flattering ponytails I have seen. This hairstyle is super simple to achieve in general, but check out the fun ways to add some personality to it as well!

1. Add a headband

I seriously have never even considered adding a headband to this hairstyle. I love it. It looks especially great with a messy ponytail like this one.

  2. One big curl

To add some contrast to the sleekness of the front of your ponytail, add one huge curl to it. This will make it more flirty and not so 'sleek and serious'.

3. Sleek Bang

Another way to add contrast is to leave the back of the ponytail straight and bring out your bangs. This will just give your head some dimension.

4. Bump it High

Bumps are my favorite. With or without a ponytail I love me a high poof. This is a super cute and fun way to add some sass to your ponytail. Part your bangs in the middle or swoop them to the side.

5. Bandana Love

Bandanas or handkerchiefs make great accessories. Tie them around your handbag, neck, and even your ponytail!

6. Ties and Ties

A high ponytail can sometimes just be plain and boring. Spice things up by adding multiple hair ties down your ponytail. Then gently tug the hair in between each tie to create these bubble like appearances.

7. Bling

Adding some bling automatically makes you feel like a princess. Plus a little bejeweled awesomeness never hurt anybody!

8. More than one

Another fun concept is to connect multiple ponytails down the back of your head. Again this is one that can very easily mimic a toddlers hairstyle but this one above captures chic and effortless perfectly.

9. Floral Twist

Adding a braid to you ponytail seems like the right thing to do on any given day. But today we are stepping way outside of just any normal plane jane braid. This floral rope/ribbon strand is weaved in an out of the braid for a gorgeous romantic and dreamy touch. Try a strand of flowers, pearls, or sparkly ribbon!

The best thing about a hairstyle is that typically, no two are the same. Have fun with your ponytails, give them some personality and make them your own!
