Get Long, Healthy Hair at Home

I have been on a coconut rave for some time now and am so eager to share it with you all. When I was little, I lived in Puerto Rico and the weather was terrible for my hair. The only thing that kept my hair tamed, moisturized and shiny was coconut oil. It wasn't until about a year ago that I started using coconut oil again, until I realized I don't know why I ever stopped using this stuff!
Coconut oil is one dependable, affordable way to heal damaged hair, provide moisture to dry hair, and promote overall hair growth. It is full of healthy fatty acids--molecules that are super small and easily absorbed into skin pores and hair follicles.
Using a coconut oil hair mask treatment will help you achieve luscious locks.

What you need:

Coconut Oil
Olive Oil (optional)

How to make your mask:

You want your mixture to be a 2:1 ratio; so 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon  of olive oil, or 4 tablespoons of coconut oil and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

What you do:

Simply mix these 2 ingredients in an old bowl and massage it into your scalp. Work your way down to the ends of you hair. Do this until your entire scalp is saturated in oil.

When to use your mask:

This really depends on your hair type. For damaged, dry hair I suggest leaving it in your hair overnight. Just put your hair in a bun, cover it with a bonnet and wash it out the next morning.
For normal hair, use this mask for about 2 hours and then shampoo it out.
Since this is a deep conditioning treatment for your hair it should be done 1-2 times a week.

I saw a difference in the strength of my hair and texture within the first month or two of using coconut oil. No split ends, my ends were less dry, my scalp was moisturized [NOT oily] and my hair just felt stronger.

Do any of you make your own hair masks at home? What are some of your favorites?
