Over the last month I seemed to have misplaced
a lot of my Clinique skin care products.
I left my face wash at a hotel.
My exfoliator at my mothers house.
and I ran out of lotion.
Since I am on a strict beauty budget right now
(only so that I can pay for my fitness-related things)
I can't replace all of these products just yet.
Instead, I have decided to dig through my beauty box
and use up some of my other skin care products
that I have been neglecting.
From my selection I have settled on completely using Origins
until I run out and am forced to buy something new.
[sort of like the Project Pan concept]
It has been about two weeks since I began this new routine
and I am very pleased with the results.
Although some of these products are not my favorite
they seem to be getting the job done.
1. Origins Cleansing Oil
I start my routine by first removing my makeup using a cleansing oil. If you don't know how obsessed with cleansing oils I am, I will reiterate: I am obsessed with cleansing oils. They have become one of my holy grail products. I love how easy it has become to remove makeup. Before I would have to rub my eyes often, to the point they became super sensitive. That area of skin around the eye is already super thin and fragile so I can only imagine how much damage I was doing rubbing mascara off of them [not so gently]. I have been loving the Origins Clean Energy Cleansing Oil- so much I already reviewed it. Your makeup will melt off like butter and your skin will NOT be left feeling oil.
2. Zero Oil Cleanser
Next I wash my face with the Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser by Origins. I only do this if I feel my face needs some extra cleansing, especially if I am breaking out. Otherwise I skip this step because I feel like the Cleansing Oil has thoroughly cleansed my face, or I am just to lazy to do this.
I have reviewed this cleanser before but I stowed it away for various reasons. At first I loved it, but as I kept using it I grew tired of the smell. I also did not feel as though it was doing a good enough job cleansing my face. Because it has Mint in it I excepted it to leave a cooling, refreshing feeling which it doesn't. I have been loving how nicely this lathers though and using it after the cleansing oil seems to work better than when I was using it alone. I do not recommend using this as a primary way of removing makeup, just a good deep cleaning face wash.
3. Charcoal Mask
After washing my face I either use an exfoliator or mask. Lately I have been using the Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask because I have been breaking out. My face is really dry this summer so I feel using both the Never A Dull Moment Exfoliator and the Clear Improvement Mask would just not be beneficial. I use this by applying a thing layer along my jawline and t-zone, not the tops of my cheeks. These are the areas I breakout the most. The tops of my cheeks are super sensitive so I never use masks on that area. I let it sit and dry for 5-6 minutes before washing off with warm water.
4. Make A Difference Toner
Lastly I use a toner or a liquid lotion. The Make A Difference is a Skin Rejuvenating Treatment Lotion by Origins. There is a whole line of Make A Difference products but I only use the toner. This is supposed to help with dehydration of the skin and help repair any signs of aging. I use this as a more preventative measure than fixing one, if that makes sense. Since my skin has been so dry, I want to prevent any dullness that may occur and prevent any premature signs of aging aka wrinkles. You can apply this with a cotton ball, but I just use my fingertips and wipe is all over my face. It leaves it feeling clean and refreshed.
5. Moisturizer
This is not an origins product but I will include it since it is the final step of my routine. I only have a sample size of the Superdefense Daily Defense Moisturizer by Clinique but I have been really liking it so far. I am sure I will run out soon and am still debating on whether or not to purchase a Clinique moisturizer or Origins one. What are your thoughts? I have been told Olay makes great moisturizers but I am not aware if they contain fragrances or not. If you have any suggestions for a great moisturizer to try let me know!
